AttendSmart is an attendance management system used by Jivans Children to track student attendance, manage teacher records, and handle related school administration. This page explains what information is collected, who can access it, and how it's kept.
What information is collected
- Students: name, roll number, class/batch, daily attendance status, and — if provided by the school — a parent or guardian's phone number and email address.
- Teachers: name, email, subject/class assignment, daily attendance records, and salary/payroll details used for internal school administration.
- Account activity: a basic log of actions taken in the system (e.g. "Sujeet Sir marked themselves Present"), used so the school administrator can see what's happening across the system.
How it's stored
All data is stored in a private database on the school's own hosting, accessible only through this application. It is not sold, shared with advertisers, or provided to any third party for marketing purposes.
Who can see it
- The school administrator can see all student, teacher, and payroll records.
- Teachers can see and mark attendance only for the students in their own assigned class or batch — not the whole school.
- Parent contact details, where provided, are used solely to send attendance-related updates about that specific student.
How long it's kept
Records are retained for as long as needed for the school's own administrative and record-keeping purposes. The school administrator can export or delete data at any time through the system's own tools.
Security
Access to the system requires a login, and passwords are never stored in readable form — only as a one-way cryptographic hash that cannot be reversed. Data is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection.
